Tanzania Embassy Post|

After two days of preparation and acclimatisation on Mount Kilimanjaro, Mr. Memon will descend to the “start point-Umbwe Gate” of Mount Kilimanjaroon February 14, 2021 morning. He will rest for the day before beginning the challenge early morning at 0600 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2021.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the world’s unique stand alone mountain. The Umbwe route has a reputation of being the most challenging route to summit Mount Kilimanjaro due to its steep ascent. Approaching from the south, the Umbwe route is a short and vertical climb. After reaching Barranco camp, the trail turns west before summiting the Uhuru Peak (5895 metres) from Arrow Glacier camp. It does not provide the gradual stages for acclimatization. The Umbwe route is therefore attempted mostly by very experienced trekkers only who are confident in their stamina to adjust to the fast rising altitude. The descent is made via the Mweka route.

Mr. Asad Ali Memon, student of IBA, Karachi, has flown into Moshi from Pakistan on February 11, 2021. We wish Mr. Memon all the success in his adventurous mission.
