Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, met with a visiting 10-member delegation representing Bangladeshi Journalists and Academicians at the Foreign Ministry today.
The interaction covered a range of issues including bilateral cooperation as well as cooperation at regional and multilateral forums.
The Minister of State said that Pakistan greatly values its relations with Bangladesh which were based on mutual respect, common religion, history and culture.
He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to strengthen relations with all the countries in the neighborhood and to closely work with them in addressing issues of peace, security, poverty and hunger which required a collective effort.
The Minister of State recalled that the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Bangladesh had a useful meeting on the margins of 16th SAARC Summitat Thimpu, Bhutan, in April 2010 and underscored the importance of having more high level interactions between the two countries.
The members of the delegation expressed their deep satisfaction over their visit and interactions with the government and private institutions as well as with the people of Pakistan.
Both sides expressed the need to further deepen people-to-people contacts and promote the already existing bonds of fraternity and friendship.
