Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi chaired the 11th meeting of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs on 30th December 2019.
Foreign Secretary, Sohail Mahmood, former Foreign Secretaries and experts along with senior officials of the foreign office attended the meeting.
The Council discussed the continued human rights violation and the grave humanitarian situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K). The Council also deliberated the situation on the Line of Control (LoC) and other regional developments.
The Council also discussed Pakistan’s international outreach in the recent months to extend political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of IOJ&K.
The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi noted that BJP’s government’s policies driven by Hindutva ideology has led to widespread protest in India. Minorities including Muslims are being targeted by law enforcement officials.
The Foreign Minister reiterated Pakistan concern that the Indian government can undertake a false flag operation to divert attention from the ongoing human rights violation in IOJ&K and internal civil disturbance.
The Foreign Minister appreciated the continued support provided by former Ambassadors and policy expert in assisting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its international outreach and effective diplomacy.
