“Finalization of Agreements on Technical Cooperation and Joint Commission will pave the way for increasing economic and trade relations between Pakistan and Brazil”, Undersecretary General Ambassador Georges Lamaziere of Brazil observed. During a detailed meeting held between the Undersecretary General and the Ambassador of Pakistan Najm us Saqib, held at the Brazilian Foreign Office (Itamaraty) today, both sides expressed satisfaction at the pace of finalization of a number of bilateral Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries. Both sides agreed to work closely in the realization of all these proposals.

The Undersecretary General and Ambassador agreed to involve the various Ministries and Departments from both countries in their common endeavour to “expediting matters” for deepening bilateral relations. Exchange of high level visits to provide impetus to bilateral cooperation in various fields, was discussed and agreed upon. “Both countries can learn from each other’s experience in diverse fields, both at Government and private levels, for the betterment of peoples of both the countries”, Ambassador Najm us Saqib said.

Referring to the importance of economic diplomacy, both sides also stressed the need to have increased people-to-people contacts in order to find additional avenues for trade, investment and related economic activities.
