A Diplomatic Reception was hosted onboard Pakistan Navy Ship “ALAMGIR” to celebrate ‘Pakistan Day’ in Salalah, 1100 kms South East of Muscat. On the occasion, Captain Nasir Bin Saif Al Shabibi, Chief of Salalah Navy Unit represented the Government of Oman as ‘Guest of Honor’ and was accorded a warm welcome upon arrival on the Ship by Mr. Salman Athar, Deputy Head of Mission.
The Ship had been exclusively commissioned to mark the occasion. Among 200 guests were representatives of Omani government and armed forces, medial businessmen, Pakistani community including Pakistani institutions in Salalah i.e. PIA, HBL and Pakistan School.
Salalah is 2nd largest city of Oman, home to 65,000 – 70,000 Pakistanis. It was connected to Pakistan on direct flight on December 1, 2016. This was the first time that such a prestigious Event was hosted in Salalah to mark Pakistan Day and is reflective of the depth and dimensions of the brotherly bilateral relations.
