Pakistani community in Rome observed Kashmir Solidarity Day in a simple but dignified ceremony on 5th February 2013.
Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who was on an official visit to Rome in order to participate in a conference on Security Council Reform, also addressed the community. He said that Pakistan will continue its moral, diplomatic and political support to the people of Kashmir who are waging a valiant struggle for their just and inalienable right of self-determination. He said that the international community must play its due role for the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Kashmir. He added that Pakistan was committed to the resolution of all outstanding disputes with India, including Kashmir, through peaceful means. Pakistan has taken significant Confidence Building Measures to alleviate the suffering of the people of Kashmir. Ambassador Tehmina Janjua also addressed the community.
A message from the Pakistani community in Italy was also read out, expressing complete solidarity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters who have offered great sacrifices for the realization of their right to self-determination.
Messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, issued on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity, were read out.
