Iraq Embassy Posts|

A number of Pakistani Zaireen are stranded in Iraq since 18 March 2020 due to complete lockdown including suspension of international flights for containment of Corona Virus pandemic. The Embassy has been regularly updating them about the efforts being made for their early repatriation to Pakistan.

The Zaireen have been regularly provided with free medicines including for the treatment of cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Measures have been taken to ensure their well-being, safety and security.

Besides providing them with necessary advice to safeguard against Covid-19, a team of the Embassy also met with them in Najaf and provided them with additional medicines as well as sanitizers, gloves, masks and other items of daily use.  Being fully aware of their difficulties, the Zaireen were assured that their repatriation is a top priority for the government of Pakistan.
