On the auspicious occasion of National Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at Embassy of Pakistan, Prague, Czech Republic. Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Jamali hoisted the flag and read the messages by the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, in his message congratulated the fellow countrymen and stressed that achieving national freedom is considered as half work done in such struggles. The remaining half, being crucial for a state’s security and stability, is equally important. This includes blending of various ethnic and minority groups into a single nation, ensuring the supremacy of law, curbing differences on the basis of social and class status, eliminating terrorism and internal disturbances, achieving economic growth, promoting good relations with the world, especially with the neighbouring countries, and above all, protecting human rights of all citizens of the state.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan, in his message highlighted that Pakistan came into being through a long democratic struggle and now the key to its stability and development also lies in hard work, honesty and morality. While commemorating this day, we need to adhere to the principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline given by Quid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and rededicate ourselves to develop Pakistan as a truly democratic welfare State on the model of Riyasat-e-Madina.

While we celebrate the National Day, our hearts are profoundly grieved by the sufferings of people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K), who are facing military siege for the past two years. We stand firmly behind our Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for their right to self-determination.
