The 4th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Serbia was held on 22nd January, 2024 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia in Belgrade. The Pakistan delegation was led by Additional Secretary (Europe) H.E. Mr. Shafqat Ali Khan, and the Serbian delegation was led by State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Goran Aleksic.

The Additional Secretary also met Advisor to Serbian President on Foreign Policy H.E. Ms. Tatjana Jovic and discussed strengthening of bilateral relations in all spheres and briefed her on situation in South Asia.

During the meetings Additional Secretary underlined that the political dialogue between Pakistan and Serbia has significantly developed and underscored Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and organizing bilateral meetings in all spheres with Serbia.

Additional Secretary (Europe) pointed out that there is ample space for enhancing economic cooperation by intensifying trade and also for developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

During the consultations various policy issues were discussed including Serbia's integration in European Union, the situation in the Eastern European region and Balkans, Pakistan’s Foreign Policy in South Asia and beyond, and the ongoing international issues. Both sides agreed that it is very important to continue holding regular political consultations to strengthen bilateral engagement.
