Ambassador of Pakistan Ali Javed, has held a bilateral meeting with Director General FAO QU Dongyu at the FAO Headquarter last week. The Ambassador was assisted by Counsellor for International Organizations and Alternate Permanent Representative from the Embassy, whereas the Director General was assisted by his team.
Both sides expressed satisfaction at the trajectory and overall status of their traditionally excellent partnership and appreciated the wide range of ongoing FAO’s projects across Pakistan.
DG FAO highlighted the importance accorded to Pakistan, being one of the top FAO partners worldwide. Recalling his past visit to Pakistan upon assuming his responsibilities at FAO, the Director General praised the peaceful democratic transition in Islamabad and expressed confidence in furthering bilateral cooperation and exchanges.
Ambassador extended a cordial invitation to DG FAO to undertake a bilateral visit to Pakistan. The Director General warmly accepted the invitation, stating his intention to be in Islamabad during the 2nd Half of 2024.
