More than 3500Pakistanis students are currently studying in Italy mostly in La Sapienza University in Rome. 
Several MoUs have been signed between Pakistani and Italian institutions: both public and private. An MoU was signed between the Ministry of Education, Universities, and Research of Italy (MIUR) and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in March 2006 which foresees Bilateral,Scientific, and Technological Cooperation activities targeted towards Technological Innovation and industrial applications. 
Italy has become an attractive destination in EU for Pakistani students lately. Few students are here on ERASMU & Italian Scholarships (AI, Computer Sciences, Nano Technology) whereas most are on self-financed laws in Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. 

Italian students are studying Urdu and Masters + Ph.Ds in Archeology.
