Ambassador Saima Sayed visited The Gambia from October 5-8, 2023. Ambassador Saima Sayed is concurrently accredited to The Gambia as well while serving as Ambassador of Pakistan in Senegal.
During her visit, Ambassador Sayed visited the Gambian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Banjul and interacted with Gambian businessmen some of whom had already visited Pakistan and expressed great interest in expanding business ties with Pakistan in various fields especially rice, food products, packaging, food processing and trainings in rice growing among other areas.
Ambassador Sayed also visited the industrial area of Banjul. She met Mr. Hamidou Jah, CEO of the Jah Multi Industrial Company dealing in cement, oil, food products like rice and wheat. Mr. Jah was very interested in engaging with Pakistan especially for import of cement and learning from Pakistan about growing rice in The Gambia. Then Ambassador Sayed visited the fish processing company, International Pelican Seafood and saw the facility that exports seafood from The Gambia to the EU countries.
Ambassador then visited the office of the Honorary Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Keba Krubally who is a well-known Gambian businessman and presented him the Pakistani flag for his office. Mr. Krubally played a vital role in organising the meetings with local businessmen.
