In a ‘one-of-a-kind’ collaboration with Rome’s top-rated ice-cream maker ‘Frigidarium’, Pakistan Embassy introduced ‘Chaunsa Gelato’ at a public diplomacy event last evening at Piazza Navona in the heart of Rome. The Event, celebrated ‘Independence Day’ through a fusion of Italian artisanal gelato craftsmanship with Chaunsa Mango and shall continue over the weekend.
Mr. Fabrizio, Propietor Frigidarium & Gelato Maestro, noting the perfect harmony of Chaunsa’s sweetness, texture and aroma declared, ‘quality of fruit is outstanding and its natural sugar content simply impressive’. ‘Pakistani Mango is excellent, excellent, excellent for making gelato, Fabrizio added.
Ambassador Ali Javed, appreciated Fabrizio and Frigidarium for the outstanding results and offered prospective collaborations with Pakistan’s top notch ‘thin-shelled’ almonds, ‘freshly-harvested’ Walnuts, apricot seeds and Saffron from Balochistan and KPK Provinces. Ambassador highlighted Pakistan’s long-grain pine-nut regarded by connoisseurs as most exquisite dry fruit of the world.
Ambassador added that Pakistan’s National Day in March coincides with Kinnow season, a unique citrus and committed to gift the fruit to Frigidarium for ‘Kinnow Gelato’. Fabrizio expressed excitement & keenness to collaborate in taking Gelato making tradition to new frontiers.
The ‘Chaunsa Gelato Festival’ attracted deep and diverse audiences from the general public to diplomats, businessmen and government official invited by Embassy. Guests were warmly greeted by members of Pakistani community and ethnic media present on the occasion.
occasion reinforced Embassy’s commitment to promoting Pakistan’s premium agricultural products and was part of activities organized to engage Italian civil society in celebration of Independence Day and Maarka-e-Haq.
