To mark the 80th Independence Day of Pakistan and the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Embassy of Pakistan hosted a reception in Belgrade.
The event brought together senior officials of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors and diplomats from a wide range of countries, representatives of international organisations, members of the Serbian media, academia and members of the Pakistani community in Serbia, reflecting the warmth of Pakistan's friendship with Serbia and the international community in Belgrade. Mr Damjan Jović, State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
In his address, Ambassador of Pakistan Syed Faraz Hussain Zaidi paid tribute to the life and vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, recalling his leadership in the creation of Pakistan and his vision of a progressive and inclusive nation. He highlighted Pakistan's achievements over the past eight decades and reaffirmed the strong and growing ties of friendship between Pakistan and Serbia. He also thanked the Guest of Honour and the distinguished guests for joining the celebrations, noting the depth of Pakistan-Serbia relations reflected in their presence.
The reception provided an opportunity for the diplomatic community and Serbian friends of Pakistan to join in the celebrations and reflect on the enduring legacy of the Quaid-e-Azam, whose vision continues to guide the Pakistani nation.
