The Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar organized a commemorative event on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
During the ceremony, special messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out. The messages reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people in their legitimate struggle for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination, as enshrined in the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Ambassador Saima Sayed highlighted the significance of Youm-e-Istehsal with particular reference to India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019. It was emphasized that these actions were aimed at altering the internationally recognized disputed status and demographic composition of IIOJK.
The participants were also apprised of the continuing human rights violations in IIOJK and the restrictions imposed upon the Kashmiri people.
