On the occasion of Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day, Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar, Senegal hosted a flag hoisting ceremony on August 14, 2023.

Members of the Pakistani Community, dignitaries from Senegal including President of the Club of Investment Senegal and students and faculty members from the Universitie Africaine des Science et Technologies (EMIA), Senegal attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Saima Sayed welcomed the guests and in her remarks highlighted the significance of this occasion for all Pakistanis. Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out by Embassy officers.

The children of the Embassy officers participated in the program with speeches, poems and a heartfelt performance on Dil Dil Pakistan Jaan Jaan Pakistan. The audience joined the young performers in singing this popular national song. The guests were served Pakistani snacks as refreshment. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by Ambassador Saima Sayed.
