High Commissioner Imran Haider called on Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Chairman University Grants Commission and discussed several proposals to enhance educational cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh including faculty and student exchange programmes , joint training for teaching faculties and university officials, research collaboration and other initiatives.
The Chairman appreciated the High Commission’s initiative of arranging visits of academia delegations to Pakistan earlier this year and shared insightful observations about scope and potential of cooperation with higher education institutions in Pakistan.
The High Commissioner briefed the Chairman about the progress on Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor and additional scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students who are aspiring to study in Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to institutionalise bilateral ties in the field of education and forging ties between leading universities of the two countries.
