High Commissioner Imran Haider paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Adviser for Shipping and Labour & Employment, Brig Gen (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain. During the meeting the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the labour sector as well as in shipping and maritime affairs.
Building on earlier discussions between the two sides, the High Commissioner noted that Bangladesh could benefit from the training and development programmes being implemented by our Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. He conveyed Pakistan’s readiness to share its expertise in skills development for overseas employment opportunities.
The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing bilateral trade through expanded cooperation in the shipping sector and improved maritime connectivity. Sharing expertise in the development of deep sea ports and establishing linkages between Karachi and Chittagong ports were also discussed.
Secretary, Ministry of Shipping Dr Nurunnahar Chowdhury was also present during the meeting.
