High Commissioner Mr. Imran Haider paid a courtesy call on Hon’ble Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today. The Chief Adviser formally welcomed the High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
The High Commissioner thanked the Chief Adviser and noted that relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh are deeply rooted in shared history, common faith and familial ties. He briefed the Chief Adviser about the positive trajectory of bilateral engagements including the resumption of institutional mechanisms, e.g. Foreign Secretary Level Consultations, Joint Economic Commission, and high level exchanges between both the countries.
Both sides also discussed bilateral cooperation in various sectors including education, trade, essential commodities, medical tourism, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts.
Expressing satisfaction with ongoing developments in bilateral relations, the Chief Adviser emphasised that strengthening people to people and business to business ties, including through joint ventures and investment is essential for building a robust foundation for future cooperation. He commended Pakistan’s collaborations in higher education and health sectors and expressed the hope that the exchanges would further expand following the resumption of direct flights.
At the end, the Chief Adviser wished the High Commissioner a successful tenure in Bangladesh.
