The Embassy of Pakistan in Abidjan hosted an event to celebrate "Iqbal Day" in honor of the 148th birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Members from the Pakistani community attended the occasion. The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
In his address, Ambassador Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood paid tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal, recognizing him as the visionary poet-philosopher whose intellectual legacy awakened a spirit of self-determination and identity among the Muslims of the Subcontinent. The Ambassador emphasized that Iqbal’s steadfast advocacy for political representation, anchored in Islamic principles, has left a permanent and defining imprint on Pakistan’s national ethos and ideological character. He concluded by urging all community members to draw enduring inspiration from Iqbal’s life and philosophical teachings. The event ended with special prayers for Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
