Ambassador Mahmood assumed the charge as the 2^ndAmbassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Republic of Ivory Coast on 21 April 2024.

Ambassador Mahmood’s last appointment was as the Vice Consul at Consulate General of Pakistan Shanghai, China from 2008-2011. Prior to that, he served as the Consul at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Hong Kong, China from 2012-2013. His other diplomatic assignments include: Brussels, Belgium (2015-2016); Cairo, Egypt (2016-2018); Chengdu, China (2018-2022).

Ambassador Mahmood joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 2004. At the Ministry’s Headquarters, he served in various roles in political and administrative division. Ambassador Mahmood served as Coordinator China cell in the Prime Minister’s Office, Islamabad from 2013-15.He also served as Joint Secretary National Security Division, Prime Minister’sOffice, Islamabad in 2023. Ambassador Mahmood holds Master degrees in History.
