Kashmir Black Day, was commemorated at the Embassy of Pakistan,Dakar on 27 October 2025. Special messages of the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister on the ‘Kashmir Black Day’ were read out during the event.
In her address, Ambassador Saima Sayed highlighted the historical background of the Kashmir Black Day when Indian government forcefully landed its troops to the disputed area of Jammu and Kashmir on 27 October 1947, forcibly occupying the territory. She lauded the heroic struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right of self-determination. She added that, on this day, the people of Pakistan renew their resolve to continue their support for the Kashmiri brethren till their legitimate aspirations for realization of right to self-determination is achieved in accordance with the UN resolutions and their wishes.
The Kashmir dispute has remained on the agenda of the UN Security Council for more than seven decades and since then it is a blot on the conscience of international community.
During the event, a documentary was screened depicting the gross human rights violations being committed by the Indian Government in Kashmir. At conclusion of the function, special prayers were offered for the Kashmiri martyrs and for an early resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions and wishes of the Kashmiri people.
