A largest 16-member business delegation from Italy shall participate in the ‘Food & Agriculture Expo’ (FoodAg) at Karachi from 25–27 Nov, 2025. The Event is hosted by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan as a premier platform for connecting int’l buyers with Pakistan’s agri-food exporters.
The delegation comprises of prominent importers, leading buying houses, trade analysts and business investors representing key segments of food and agriculture value chain as well as major buyers and distributors of rice which at $80mn in 2025 is Pakistan’s top destination for the product in EU.
Other Sectors such as spices, fruits & vegetables, biscuits, confectionery, cereals, breads, pastries, cakes and chewing gum are also being represented in the delegation from Italy reflective of growing interest of Italian enterprises in sourcing high-quality and competitive Pakistani food products, as well as exploring long-term partnerships in value-added agriculture.
Two journalists from the daily ‘Il Messaggero’ and ‘Kmetro0’ a bi-monthly journal are accompanying the delegation to document Italian participation and highlight Pakistan’s agricultural potential and export competitiveness Their interactions with Rice and Marble Associations, FPCCI, a think tank and media counterparts has also been organised by Mission for them to gain firsthand knowledge of Pakistan and project it across Italy and wider EU market.
In addition, CIHEAM Bari (Int’l Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies) has established a stall at FoodAg. Experts from CIHEAM have travelled from Italy to interact with Pakistani researchers, companies and policy stakeholders. Their participation is expected to open new avenues of cooperation.
Dr. Costantino Parma, an Italian Expert on Olive Cultivation from CIHEAM will conduct Seminar on modern techniques, sustainable irrigation, planting models and opportunities for high-yield olive strains in Pakistan. CIHEAM and Dr. Parma are substantially engaged with olive cultivation across Pakistan
Mission’s latest initiative marks another important step toward expanding Pakistan’s footprint in European agri-food market and diversifying exports. Mr. Yasir Hussain Khokhar, Trade & Investment Counsellor (TIC) of the Mission has organized the Italian delegation of unprecedented size and substance and shall be accompanying it to Pakistan for organising B2B and G2B interactions on site.
