Minister for National Food Security & Research Hon’ble Rana Tanveer Hussain, who is currently representing Pakistan at FAO Council, held informal interaction with FAO Chapter through ‘Pak@RBA’, earlier today.
Hon’ble Minister outlined Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s policies & priorities over national food security and upcoming policy in this regard.
Rana Saheb commended services & contributions of Pakistani experts at FAO and other UN food agencies like IFAD, WFP and appreciated them for flying Pakistani flag high at RBAs.
Pakistani professionals appreciated ‘Pak@RBA’ for direct interaction with visiting dignitaries and shared updates on their respective areas, ongoing FAO projects and emerging challenges & opportunities.
There are 67 Pakistani nationals holding different portfolios in FAO, IFAD, and WFP.
Also participating were two Pakistani students on internship at FAO from LUISS University who briefed the Hon’ble Minister on Pakistani Students’ Association with 650 members from across Italy.
Mr. Ali Javed Ambassador of Pakistan to Italy & PR to Rome-Based UN Agencies (RBAs) assisted hourlong interaction organized by 2nd Secretary / APR Muhsin Hasan.
Ambassador noted that the Embassy has established a ‘Facebook’ page and convenes monthly interactive “khuli kachereys” for exclusive interaction with 3500–4000 students in Italy as well as those planning to study in Italy.
The Ambassador encouraged Pakistani professionals and students to join his “WhatsApp Broadcast” initiative which has so far accumulated 20,000+ members.
WhatsApp Broadcast (+39-3444108266) serves as direct, efficient & transparent mechanism to maintain close linkages with community.
It is recalled that Pak@RBA was established and convened by Advisor to PM for PMO Hon’ble Dr. Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah, on margins of his participation at ‘FAO World Food Forum’ on Oct 15, 2025.
