A 3-member delegation from NDMA participated in the weeklong workshop from Nov 21-28, 2025 titled, ‘Strengthening National Capacities for Development & Management of Disaster-Resilient Infrastructure’.

Delegations were accorded technical briefings followed with visits to various ‘Operational & Monitoring Rooms’ catering for civil-protection operations centres, traffic-management, rail-monitoring and emergency coordination.

Pakistan is currently ranked top vulnerable nation on Germanwatch ‘Climate Risk Index’ (CRI-2025) where Italy ranks No.3 given its exposure to extreme weather causing landslides and floods.

Pakistan's participation at the important event afforded first-hand exposure to Italy's disaster-management systems, resilience-building practices and reinforced bilateral cooperation and mutual resolve to combat climate change.

Event was hosted by Italian MoFA and Civil Protection Department for South Asia. NDMA’s participation was organised & assisted by Shahnawaz Khan, 3rd Secretary of Embassy of Pakistan.
