A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on the occasion of 86th National Day of Pakistan. The event started with playing of the National Anthem and the flag-hoisting by the Ambassador Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood. 

During the ceremony, special messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out. In his remarks, Ambassador Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood felicitated all fellow Pakistanis and highlighted the significance of Pakistan Day. He paid tribute to our forefathers, whose sacrifices led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of South Asia. 

The role of government in stabilizing the economy and keeping the country safe with active support of Pakistani security forces was highlighted. Pakistani Diaspora was exhorted to work for betterment and prosperity of Pakistan and play constructive role in bringing closer the people of Cote d’Ivoire and Pakistan.
 
The event ended with special prayers for the peace, progress and prosperity of the country.
