Pakistan Navy handed over the command of multinational naval Combined Task Force- 150 (CTF-150) to Royal Saudi Naval Forces during a ceremony at the US Navy base in Bahrain on 21 Jul 22. Commodore Vaqar Muhammad of the Pakistan Navy passed the command scroll to Cdre Abdullah Al Mutairy of Royal Saudi Naval Forces. H.E Muhammad Ayub, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr Saleh Bin Falah Al Otaibi, Deputy Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Deputy Commander Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Commodore Adrian Fryer and other distinguished guests attended the ceremony. The ceremony successfully marked the end of the Pakistan Navy’s 12th tenure of command of Combined Task Force 150. While addressing the audience, outgoing Commander CTF-150, Commodore Vaqar Muhammad, said that working in this unique multinational naval partnership was professionally rewarding and a pleasant experience for him and his team. He expressed gratitude to the nations which spared their assets and extended all-out support during the command tenure to make it a success. Combined Task Force-150 (CTF-150) is one of four task forces operated by Combined Maritime Forces (CMF). CTF-150 conducts Maritime Security Operations (MSO) to counter terrorist acts and related illegal activities. Commodore Vaqar served as CTF's commander since January 2021 and led a multinational team responsible for illicit cargo seizures in regional waters. This year the Task Force has interdicted illegal drugs worth an estimated $200 million. Successful completion of the 12th command of CTF-150 by the Pakistan Navy is a manifestation of the trust and respect reposed in the Pakistan Navy by coalition partners. Over the years, Pakistan Navy has been actively participating in international operations to ensure peace, maritime security and stability in the region while protecting Pakistan's maritime interests. Pakistan is currently holding the Command of CTF-151.
