The Embassy of Pakistan in Abidjan organized an event to honour the founding father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on the occasion of his 148th birthday. Members of the Pakistani community warmly participated in the event to commemorate this significant day. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran.
In his address, Ambassador Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood emphasized that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s legacy is an institution which is based on the values of truth, honesty, and dedication to the cause of the nation. He urged that our path to momentous progress and lead in the world can be easy if we follow the footprints and guiding principles of Quaid. The Ambassador also highlighted that it was due to Quaid's unmatchable political vision, charismatic leadership and foresight that Muslims of the subcontinent were able to achieve a separate homeland in sub-continent.
The Ambassador acknowledged that Pakistan is currently facing challenges; however, he asserted that if the leadership and the people of Pakistan embrace Quaid’s vision and roadmap, the nation will ultimately navigate towards progress and prosperity. He remarked that without Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the dream of Pakistan would have never come to fruition.
The children of the Pakistani community in Abidjan contributed to the event by presenting poems and speeches based on the Quaid’s thoughts and instructions to the nation. The event was also attended by the members of Islamic National Council of Cote d’Ivoire.
During an interactive session with the community members, the Ambassador briefed them about current bilateral engagement and efforts being undertaken to further the causes of Pakistan in Ivory Coast. Ambassador emphasised the community to play an active role in enhancing people to people interaction between Pakistan and Ivory Coast. Community members were also briefed about upcoming events in Embassy.
The event concluded with special prayers for the father of the nation, and refreshments were served at the end of the event.
