Shab-e-Miraj

In order to commemorate Shab-e-Miraj, the Embassy of Pakistan in Abidjan organized an event in the Embassy on 16 January 2026.

The event was attended by member Supreme Council of Imams, Mosques and Islamic Affairs of Cote d’Ivoire (COSIM) and Pakistani community living in Abidjan.

In his address, Ambassador Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood said that Shab-e-Miraj is a very important and sacred night for remembering the miraculous night journey of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). This night recalls the mystical journey of Prophet Muhammad who traveled from the Kaaba to Masjid al-Aqsa where he led prayers.  The Ambassador emphasized that everyone must remember this blessed night with special prayers and reciting the Quran.

The event ended with special prayers for all Muslims especially Pakistanis living across the globe.
