A tree plantation ceremony was organized in the Pakistan Embassy on August 5, 2024. This plantation was held in connection with the 41st edition of the National Day of Forestation “la Journee nationale de l’arbre”, led by President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
Ambassador Saima Sayed was joined by her staff and their families for this event. The tree was planted amid prayers for the prosperity of the people of Pakistan and Senegal. The young children also participated in the plantation.
Ambassador Sayed said that the orange tree was planted with the hope that it would grow and bear fruit in the coming years, which was symbolic of Pakistan Senegal bilateral brotherly relations that continue to flourish and strengthen with every passing year. She added that for the next year, the Embassy would work with other Senegalese friends to plant more trees in a public place.
Pakistan and Senegal enjoy close brotherly relations since 1960. Both countries are working together to enhance engagement in diverse fields like, trade, agriculture, education, tourism and much more/
