Youm-e-Istehsal was commemorated at the Embassy of Pakistan in Abidjan on 05 August 2025. The event was attended by a sizable number of Pakistani community members along with their Ivorian friends. The event started with recitation from Holy Quran. National Anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir Anthem were played. The Embassy in the morning also observed one-minute silence in solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Messages of the President, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out to the audience. A special documentary depicting the plight of Kashmiris was displayed for the audience.
The Pakistani children shared their views on the event focusing on the importance of Kashmir cause and raising their voice for justice and freedom of Kashmiris.
Ambassador Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood discussed the significance of ‘Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir’ and shared his thoughts on the plight of innocent Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He explained the atrocities being committed by Indian occupation forces since 5 August 2019 and emphasized the need of meaningful steps by the international community toward a peaceful resolution of the dispute.
The event ended with special prayers for the freedom of Kashmir from the Indian illegal occupation.
