Ambassador Ali Haider Altaf joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in2001.He assumed the charge as Ambassador of Pakistan to Serbia in April 2023.

Ambassador Ali’s last appointment was as Chief of State Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.

At the headquarters, he has served as Director General (EC&OIC).

Prior to that, he served as Director of Pakistan at SAARC Secretariat, Kathmandu. His other diplomatic assignments include: Germany; Brazil; and Japan.

He has also served in Headquarters& Finance Division, Europe Division and Human Resource and Career Planning Division.

Ambassador Ali Haider holds Degree in political science.

He is married with three children.
