The newly appointed Ambassador of Argentina H.E. Ivan Ivanissevich paid a courtesy call on Syed Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. While welcoming the Argentinean Ambassador to Pakistan, the SAPM expressed the confidence that he would endeavour to enhance the existing level of bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of trade and investment.
The SAPM briefed the Ambassador on the policies of the present government. He also underlined that 2016 being the 65th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, it be used as an opportunity to give a fresh impetus to the bilateral relations. Mr. Fatemi also called for agreeing on institutional mechanisms in all areas of bilateral interests, including economy and trade, science and technology, energy, education and culture.
While expressing confidence in the present level of cooperation between the two countries, the Ambassador assured the SAPM that he was fully committed to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. He also briefed the SAPM on the recent political developments in Argentina and the region.
