The High Commissioner of Pakistan calls on the President of the Senate, Republic of Rwanda

High Commissioner of Pakistan Mr. Amir Muhammad Khan called on President of the Senate (upper House) of Rwanda, Hon. Dr. Iyamuremye Augustin on 7 February 2022. The two Vice Presidents of the Senate, Hon. Nyirasafari Esperance and Hon. Dr. Mukabaramba Alvera, were also present on the occasion. The Senate President briefed the High Commissioner on the history, composition, powers and functions of the Senate.

The High Commissioner in response, briefed the Hon. President and the Hon. Vice Presidents of the Senate of Rwanda on the Federal system of Pakistan, Houses of Parliament, its composition, system of elections and powers and functions. He also highlighted Pakistan’s geostrategic location and the government of Pakistan’s ‘Engage Africa Policy.’

During the meeting it was agreed upon that the parliaments of the two countries needed to exchange delegations level visits for interaction and sharing of experiences and good parliamentary practices.
