U.S. Secretary of Navy Raymond Edwin Mabus called on the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs this morning. They discussed the overall bilateral relationship, focusing on defence cooperation between the two countries. Both sides reviewed this excellent cooperation between the two Navies and discussed ways for further deepening and widening this cooperation.
The Adviser and Secretary Navy expressed satisfaction at the positive trajectory in Pakistan-U.S. ties and reiterated their commitment to further build on the recent progress in bilateral ties, based on mutual respect and mutual interest.
They also discussed the regional situation especially progress in the international efforts for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan. Secretary Navy appreciated Pakistan’s positive role and contribution to the cause of regional peace and stability.
The U.S. Secretary of Navy is visiting Pakistan in connection with the Joint Pak-U.S. Naval Exercises commencing in Pakistan today.
