The applicants who transfer online payment through Cross Border payment method should pay additional 20/- PLN as bank commission along with normal fee mentioned on the website.
Delivery of Documents
- In case applicants send their documents via post/DHL submission of return envelope/DHL with complete name and address is mandatory.
- Pickup of the document is the responsibility of the applicants. In case of loss through courier, Embassy will not be responsible.
MACHINE READABLE PASSPORT (MRP)
- As per decision by the Government of Pakistan, issuance of manual passports have been discontinued forthwith. Instead, Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) will be issued to every Pakistani citizen. This facility i.e. issuance of Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) has been started in Embassy of Pakistan, Warsaw, Poland with effect from 04 January 2016.
- This Embassy processes Machine Readable Passport (MRP) applications of Pakistani citizens resident in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
- All Machine Readable Passports are issued at Islamabad by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, Government of Pakistan.
Requirements for Issuance of Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
First-time Issuance or Renewal of the Machine Readable Passport
English translation of any other supporting document not in English or Urdu.
- Personal appearance of the passport applicant at the Embassy is mandatory for on-the-spot recording of biometric data (fingerprints scanning), photographs etc.
- Original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) along with its copy (both sides). In case the applicant does not have a valid original CNIC/NICOP, he will be required to first apply for NICOP. MRP is processed after NICOP preparation.
- In case of married ladies, the CNIC must bear the name of the husband along with its copy (both sides);
- In the case of minor children up to the age of 14 years, their original Child Registration Certificate (CRC) issued from NADRA and NICOP are required along with one copy;
- Original Pakistani passport along with its copies from pages 1 to 7;
- Original valid Polish/Latvian/Estonian/Lithuania visa/resident card along with its one copy (both sides);
- Original bank deposit slip for payment of fee, clearly showing the exact amount, bank’s original stamp and Embassy’s relevant bank account number.
- To facilitate processing/decision, the Embassy may ask for fulfillment of additional requirements.
- The requirements for the renewal of a Machine Readable Passport are the same as those for its first-time issuance.
- Applicants’ thumbs and index fingers of both right and left hands should be without any indelible colouring e.g. ink or henna (mehndi) for proper fingerprints;
- It is mandatory that both ears of the applicants are visible at the time of taking photograph;
Issuance of Passport in lieu of Lost Passport
- In case of loss of passport, the following requirements in addition to the above-mentioned requirements of a new passport are mandatory:-
- Lost Passport Report from the local Police authorities mentioning name of the applicant and Number of previous Passport and its translation in English;
- English translation of any other supporting document not in English or Urdu
- Photocopy of the lost passport, its number, date, and place of issue, and date of its expiry.
- Fees for issuance of Passport in lieu of lost passport are given in the fee table.
- New passports in place of lost passports are issued only if the previous passport(s) are verified from the Issuing Authority.

- According to the instructions of the Government, Pakistan Missions abroad cannot extend passport facility to an applicant losing his passport for the third time.
- In cases of third time loss, an Emergency Passport can be issued to the applicant only for repatriation to Pakistan.
Note: Applicants are advised to keep their passports in safe custody so as to avoid loss of this important travel document. If the passport is lost for the third time, further renewal is subject to its approval from Directorate General Immigration and Passports, Islamabad.
Modification in a Machine-Readable Passport
- The Machine Readable Passport is issued on the basis of the applicant’s CNIC/NICOP data.
- Thus, any modification e.g., change in name, date of birth, place of birth desired in the MRP would necessitate first applying for the desired change in the CNIC/NICOP.
- Processing of modification in the MRP is done after the receipt of the applicant’s modified NICOP.
- No endorsement is permitted in the MRP. Therefore, for any change/ modification, a new MRP is issued. Please check requirements for the MRP issuance in the relevant section.
- Names of children cannot be included in parent’s passport;
Issuance of a Machine Readable Passport (MRP) to a Newly-Born Baby/Children below 18 Years
- Before issuance of passport to a newly born baby/Child below 18 years, his/her NICOP must be obtained from NADRA.
- Once the NICOP is received from NADRA, the following requirements must be completed for applying MRP:
- Personal appearance of the child at the Embassy is mandatory for photographing;
- The child must be accompanied by both parents/guardian;
- The father/mother/legal guardian will be required to sign a form which will be provided by the Embassy at the time of application. In case one of the parents is unable to come other should bring Authority Letter/No Objection Certificate (NOC) for issuance of Passport and original Travel documents of absentee parent;
- Original National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) of baby along with its copy (both sides);
- Original Pakistani Passport and CNIC or NICOP of the Father;
- Mother’s Original passport and CNIC or NICOP showing husband’s name. In case husband name is not mentioned on the passport or NICOP, original Nikah Nama or Marriage Certificate duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan should be provided;
- Original Birth Certificate of the baby clearly stating baby’s name, gender, date of birth, place of birth and parents names;
- English translation of any document not in English or Urdu;
- To facilitate processing/decision, the Embassy may ask for fulfilment of additional requirements.
Note: Children below the age of 15 Years are not entitled for Passport with 10 years validity. They can only be issued Machine Readable Passport (MRP) with 5 years validity.
Processing Time of MRP
- Passport applied on Normal fee is, usually, delivered within 30 working days (4-5 weeks). That applied on Urgent fee is delivered within 15 working days (Two weeks).
- The Processing Time is subject to the receipt of the prepared Passport from Directorate General if Immigration and passports Islamabad.
Application Procedure
The fee for MRP must be deposited in Embassy’s account before coming to Embassy (Please see fee chart at the end of this page).
Applications for MRPs are accepted/processed during Monday-Thursday from 1000-1230 hours except on public holidays and during Ramadan.
Please make prior appointment before coming to Embassy on the Online Appointment System available on our website and take a printout of your appointment.
Upon reaching the Embassy contact Embassy reception. Present all required documents to the official at the counter. If all required documents are in order, the photograph bearing token will be issued and applicants are requested thereafter to proceed for finger prints and data entry, and if documents are not complete “new que token” is required for next turn after completing documents. So, please bring photocopies along with you for application for MRP.
Delivery of Passports
- Delivery period for normal passports is about 4 to 5 weeks, while urgent passports are delivered in 12 to 14 days approximately which includes shipment time from Islamabad to Warsaw, Poland;
- Applicants are required to collect their new passports from the Embassy in person. All the applicants will be informed telephonically or via Email when their passport will be ready to be picked up from the Embassy;
- If no call/Email is received after the given time, please confirm over telephone/Email the availability of Passport before coming to Embassy;
- The applicants should bring their previous original passport for cancellation stamp and the receipt at the time of delivery;
- The new passports can be collected every Friday from 1000-1200 hours except on public holidays and during Ramadan;
- However if due to some unavoidable circumstances, the applicants are unable to come to the Embassy in person, they can collect their new passports through a designated person who carries a signed authority letter from the applicant, his own identity and the applicant’s previous passport;
- Alternatively the applicants can obtain their new passport through DHL (with in Poland only). In such case, first they should send their previous original passport and New MRP Token/Receipt for cancellation along with return envelope with complete postal address of the applicant. Payment of the DHL will be paid by the applicant to the DHL person on receipt of shipment;
- In case of applicants residing in Latvia and Estonia, the applicants must send their previous original passport for cancellation stamp and New MRP Token along with return envelope with complete address and arrange pick up of passport by post/Courier by themselves;
- The Embassy will not be responsible for loss of passport through post/courier;
- All computerized passports are issued from Islamabad. In case of some other query call on given telephone numbers from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Important Notes, regarding issuance of Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
- a) For applicants serving in the Government of Pakistan service, no objection letter (NOC) from their parent department and authorization from Directorate General of Immigration and Passports are mandatory.
- b) In case of dual nationals, original passport of adopted country and its copy along with the Pakistani passport are required.
- c) In case of Government Officer/Employee (Federal or Provincial departments of Pakistan/Autonomous/ Semi-Autonomous Departments/ Defence Forces), must bring original NOC and authorization from Directorate General of Immigration and Passports addressed to this Embassy for Issuance of Passport. The employees who have left Government service must also bring original Resignation Acceptance/ Service Termination Certificate.
- d) If CNIC/NICOP is valid but picture does not match applicant’s current facial features, picture on NICOP must be revised prior to coming for processing of Passport.
VISA TO PAKISTAN

Verification of Pakistani Driving License:
Following documents are required for issuance of verification letter for Pakistani driving license:
- Application written by applicant.
- Original + copy of Pakistani driving license.
- Copy of Pakistani ID card.
- Copy of Pakistani Passport.
- Copy of Polish/Latvian/Estonian/Lithuania resident card (mandatory)
- Online bank deposit slip of 50 PLN.
- Minimum four (4) Weeks processing time subject to verification from Pakistan traffic Authorities.
- Any other document as deemed appropriate.
NOC for Marriage
Following documents are required to be submitted by both (Pakistani and Polish/Latvian/Estonian/Lithuania citizens). For NOC both nationals must-visit Embassy in Person.

Polish/Latvian/Estonian/Lithuanian National
- Passport, if available (Original + One photocopy)

- Affidavit regarding his/her willingness with official English Translation to marry the Pakistani National, along with Notary of the Court duly attested by Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Poland. (Original + One photocopy)

- Any other document as deemed appropriate.
Attestation/Legalization of Power of Attorney
- Applicant must bring the original Power of Attorney in person along with his original CNIC/NICOP and Passport.

2. Two witnesses are required and both must be present in person along with their original CNIC/NICOP/Passport.
3. Two Photographs of Executant are required to be pasted on the Power of Attorney.
4. Two photocopies of CNIC/NICOP/Passport of Executantand Witnesses.
5. One Photocopy of the Power Attorney to be legalized.
6. The Executant and both witnesses must sign the Power of Attorney in presence of Embassy’s Consular Staff Member. Already signed copy of Power of Attorney will not be accepted.
7. The Executant must provide his as well as Attorney’s Telephone Number and Residential Address.
8. Please note that after legalization of Power of Attorney by the Embassy, the deadline for registration of the power of attorneyfrom the concerned Assistant Commissioner / Additional Collector /Sub Registrar etc, meant for attorney/nominee is four months.
9. Fee for Attestation/Legalization of Power of Attorney is PLN 100/- Original bank transfer slip should be attached with the document.

4. Fee for Attestation/Legalization of Documents issued in Pakistan is PLN 50/- per attestation.

The Process of Renunciation of Pakistani Citizenship takes approximately six (6) Months.
Note: The Renunciation Certificate would be issued as per Form-X. Therefore, name spellings on Form-X, NICOP, Pakistan Passport, Assurance letter/foreign Passport should be the same. In case of any variation/name change, an application with supporting document may be attached with the application.

NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) and POC (Pakistan Origin Card)
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a Web Based Application System named as “Pak Identity” for processing of NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) and POC (Pakistan Origin Card) applications online in order to facilitate Pakistani expatriates. Now the expatriates can directly apply for their NICOP/POC Cards online.

Brief
Pakistan-Estonia Relations
Pakistan recognized Estonia in 1992 soon after its independence and diplomatic relations were established on 20 September 1993. The year 2023 marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
- Bilateral ties have remained cordial and cooperative. The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar met with the Prime Minister of Estonia, Ms. Kaja Kallas on the sidelines of UN Climate Change Conference (COP-28) in Dubai on 01st December 2023. The two leaders agreed on the need to work together to address common challenges including climate change and food security and strengthening bilateral economic ties.
- The two sides held four rounds of bilateral consultations since 2005. The fourth round of bilateral consultations on 10 July 2024 in Islamabad. Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe), Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan led the Pakistan side, while Director General of the Department of Asia, the Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, Ambassador Kristi Karelsohn, headed the Estonian side.
Agreements
- The MoU on the Establishment of Political Consultations Mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries was signed on 8 December 2004. The two sides also signed a Convention for the Elimination of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance on 20 November 2023 in Tallinn. Both sides continue to engage to further expand the legal base for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Bilateral trade
- Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Estonia in 2023 was US$ 17.1 million. The Pakistan exports to Estonia amounted to US$ 11.5 million and imports from Estonia were worth US$ 5.6 million. Trade figures of last six calendar years are given below:

- The main items exported from Pakistan to Estonia were textiles, articles of leather, cotton, articles of apparel and clothing accessories, cereals, and salt. The items imported from Estonia to Pakistan were iron and steel, articles of furniture and bedding, mineral fuels and oils, pulp of wood, articles of aluminum, and organic chemicals.

Brief
Pakistan-Latvia Relations
Pakistan recognized Latvia on 10 September 1991 soon after its independence and established diplomatic relations on 29 April 1996. The two countries have since maintained friendly and cooperative relations.
Political Relations
- The main interaction takes place during visits of Pakistan’s Ambassador to Riga (resident in Warsaw) and bilateral political consultations between two foreign ministries. The last (5th) round of consultations was held in Riga in May 2019. The 6th round is expected to be held in Islamabad in 2024. Pakistan and Latvia signed a Convention on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion on 28 April 2023.
Bilateral Trade
- The bilateral trade between Pakistan and Lithuania in 2023 was US$ 21.8 million. Pakistan’s exports amounted to US$ 6.9 million and imports from Latvia were worth US$ 14.9 million. Trade figures of last six calendar years are given below:

The items imported from Latvia to Pakistan were products of cereals, mineral fuels, organic/inorganic chemicals, plastic & articles thereof, wood & articles thereof, articles of iron & steel, electrical machinery, and optical and photographic instruments.

Brief
Pakistan- Lithuania Relations
Diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Lithuania were established on 31 May 1994. Pakistan recognized Lithuania on 08 September 1991. The two countries have maintained friendly and cooperative relations.
Political Relations
- The bilateral relationship is marked by mutual respect, goodwill, and understanding of each other's interests. There is a mutual desire to expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, information & communication technology (ICT), and education.
- An MoU on the Establishment of Bilateral Consultation Mechanism between the respective foreign ministries was signed on 21 February 2023 during the visit of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to Vilnius. To further expand the legal framework of bilateral cooperation, Pakistan and Lithuania stay continually engaged.
- The two sides have already held seven rounds of bilateral political consultations. The latest (7th) round was held in Islamabad on 24 May 2024. The Senate of Pakistan also constituted a Friendship Group for Lithuania in June 2021.
Bilateral Visits
- Foreign Minister Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited Vilnius, Lithuania from 20-21 February 2023. This was the first-ever visit of any Foreign Minister from Pakistan to Lithuania as well as the Baltic region. The two foreign ministers agreed to explore new avenues of cooperation including connectivity and enhancing B2B contacts.
- Previously, on the sidelines of the Davos Summit on 30 January 2009, Prime Minister Syed Yusaf Raza Gillani met the President of Lithuania, Mr. Valdas Adamkus. Lithuania’s Minister for Economy visited Pakistan on 26-28 September 1999, while Federal Minister for Communications, Arbab Muhammad Alamgir Khan visited Vilnius on 19-20 October 2009 to attend the First Conference of ASEM Transport Ministers. Mr. Kamran Michael, former Federal Minister for Human Rights also participated in an ASEM Conference, entitled “Women’s Economic Empowerment: Creating Equal Opportunities in the World of Work”, held in Vilnius from 25-26 May 2017.
Trade and Economic Cooperation
- The bilateral trade between Pakistan and Lithuaniain 2023 was US$ 57 million. The Pakistan exports to Lithuania amounted to US$ 40.3 million and imports from Lithuania were worth US$ 16.7 million. Trade figures for the last five calendar years are given below:

Brief
Pakistan-Poland Relations
Diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Poland were established on 17th December 1962 and Pakistan opened its Embassy in Warsaw in 1969. The bilateral relations have made strong progress particularly in the last 20 years and now cover multiple areas including political, economic, defence and education. After the introduction of e-visa facility by Pakistan, the number of tourists from Poland to Pakistan has significantly increased. Today our bilateral relations are marked by cordiality and friendship.
- Poland is an important country for Pakistan both bilaterally as well as in the context of the EU. The year 2022 marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Political Contacts/Bilateral Visits
- The mechanism of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) between the two foreign ministriesplays an important role in reviewing progress on bilateral issues and exchanging views on regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest. The latest (8th) round of BPC was held on 05 June 2023 in Islamabad.
- There had been two high level visits in the history of bilateral relations: Polish President Marian Spychalski’s visit to Pakistan in December 1970 and President Musharraf’s visit to Warsaw in April 2007. The Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski paid an official visit to Pakistan in August 2011, on behalf of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton. The Chairman Senate of Pakistan visited Warsaw in 2011 and 2013. The Marshal of the Polish Senate visited Pakistan in 2012 and 2018.
- A delegation from the Senate and National Assembly of Pakistan visited Poland to attend the Internet Governance Forum (IGF-2021) held in Katowice from 6-10 December 2021. At senior official levels, Under Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Mr. Wojciech Gerwel visited Islamabad on 05-06 June 2023 to hold the 8th round of Bilateral Political Consultations while Political Director at the Polish Foreign Office Mr. Witold Sobkow visited Islamabad on 5-6 December 2022 to discuss bilateral and regional issues.
- Previously, at the invitation of the Polish Government, the former Federal Minister for Defence Mr. Khurram Dastgir paid an official visit to Warsaw from 17-19 April 2018. The key highlight of the visit was the signing of the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Agreement.
Agreements/MoUs
- There is a considerable legal base between the two countries as several Agreements/MoUs have already been signed including Agreement on Air Services (1970); Convention for Avoidance of Double Taxation of Income (1974); MoU on Consultations between the two foreign ministries (2004); MoU on Cooperation in Energy and Mineral Resources (2014); MoU on Cooperation between State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Polish Financial Supervision Authority (2018); Agreement on Defence Cooperation (2018); and Agreement of Visa Abolition for the holders of diplomatic passports (2023).
- The two sides continue to engage to further expand the legal base and institutional framework of our bilateral cooperation.
Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation
- There is a steady increase in bilateral trade According to the statistics provided by the Polish side the volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Poland in 2023 was US$ 922.0 million. Pakistan’s exports to Poland amounted to US$ 794.0 million and imports from Poland were worth US$ 128.0 million. Trade figures for last five calendar years are given below:

- In the field of energy cooperation, the state-owned Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) has been conducting petroleum exploration and production activities in Pakistan since 1997. The Polish company besides successfully drilling several gas fields has also constructed a 50 km gas transportation pipeline.
- Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and Poland’s Ministry of Economy also signed an MoU on Cooperation on Energy and Mineral Resources in March 2014.
Education & Cultural Cooperation
- Poland is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for Pakistani students. MoUs between several educational institutions of Pakistan and Poland Universities have been signed in 2015 and 2016 on cooperation in various fields (medical, agriculture, and social sciences).
Pakistani Community
- There are over 1400 Pakistanis living in Poland. Around 350 of them are students, a few professionals working in multinational companies and banks, and some are running small businesses of their own.
