Tajikistan is Pakistan’s closest neighbour in Central Asia. A narrow strip of Wakhan Corridor (14 km at some points) separates the two countries.
Pakistan-Tajikistan relations are based on commonalities of religion, history and culture. For centuries, peoples of the two lands have enriched each other’s spiritual, intellectual, and cultural growth.
Pakistan was among the first countries to recognize Tajikistan’s independence and to establish diplomatic relations with it (6 June, 1992).
Leadership of the two countries is committed to further deepen the bilateral relations by further strengthening cooperation in in the fields of trade, connectivity and people to people contact.
