People to People Contacts

Pakistan remains one of the key business and social partners of Afghanistan, with thousands of Afghans and Pakistanis crossing the border to and fro each day. The two countries share fraternal bonds of religious, geographical and historical linkages that are well represented in their huge diaspora presence on both sides of the border.

Pakistan has graciously hosted Afghan brethren over more than four decades in what has been the most protracted refugee situation in the world. Both countries remain deeply connected through close people to people contacts in all fields, with Pakistan also being the primary destination for all Afghan patients and students in all fields. Major portion of all educated Afghan bureaucrats and officials have always been educated in Pakistan over last several decades. This is a testament to the broad and deep linkage between peoples and governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
