War Situation
Embassy of Pakistan, Kyiv continue to operate in an environment of ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia which started in February 2022. The situation is still volatile and the war continue to cause large scale destructions and human sufferings with potential to further escalate / expand. In absence of any serious efforts towards peace, there is no end of war in sight. With every passing day, life is becoming more stressful, especially in the aftermath of huge destruction of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure caused by the Russian Federation’s heavy bombing and drone / missile strikes & resultant long hours of electricity outages adversely effecting every community & organization.
Though, there have been numerous engagements with high officials and fruitful interactions / visits to institutions / multiple organizations, still most of the activities related to Trade / Investment, Manpower Export / Human Resource Developments, Education, Scientific and Technical Cooperation etc. remained ceased.
Meetings with Pakistani Diaspora
Excellency Ambassador visited various cities of Ukraine and met with Governors and Mayors of Odessa, LyivIvano-Frankivisk etc. during these visits Ambassador also had interactions with Pakistani diaspora living in Ukraine.
A number of activities were organized by this Mission to promote Pakistan cuisine, art, language, music and history to connect with local public and Pakistani diaspora such as.
23rd March 2024
The Embassy celebrated Pakistan National Day on 23rd March 2024 at Islamic Cultural Centre, Kyiv. After the flag hoisting ceremony at Embassy premises the main event with maximum participation was the Iftar Dinner in which members of Pakistan's and local Diaspora, Pakistani Students, our UN Employees; prominent figures from Islamic Cultural Centre kyiv, were invited. In addition, an Iftar Dinner for all Muslim Ambassador and families present in Kyiv was hosted at Ambassador Residence in evening of 22 March 2024.
5th August 2024
Embassy of Pakistan, Kyiv observed 5th August 2024 as Youm-e-Istehsal in a solemn and dignified manner and expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Besides all Embassy staff & families, the event was also attended by representatives of Islamic Culture Center of Ukraine and student community of Pakistan studying in Ukraine / Kyiv.
14th August 2024
Embassy of Pakistan, Kyiv celebrated 78th Independence Day of Pakistan on 14th August 2024 in Embassy's premises. Besides, large number of participants from Pakistani community / diaspora, representatives from different walks of life including students from schools, colleges/ universities, members of business community, media persons, important government functionaries and prominent members of society also attended the event.
The event started with Flag hosting ceremony and national anthem of Pakistan, following the recitation of Holy Quran, welcome remarks from Excellency Ambassador and reading of the messages of President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, speeches from Pakistani students, quiz competition on Pakistan and prizes distribution ceremony.
Visit toIchnia City Council, Ichnia Dairy and Canned Food Factory
Excellency Ambassador paid a visit to Chernihiv Region along with Deputy Head of the Mission and Social Secretary. The visit was organized under the auspices of the Head of the NGO “Ukrainian Initiative”. The visit included significant engagements with local institutions and industries in the region: Nizhyn Gogol State University, Ichnia City Council, Ichnia Dairy and Canned Food Factory.
During the Excellency Ambassador visited the Ichnia City Council and met with the Mayor of Ichnia. This visit marked a significant step in rekindling the friendly bilateral relations that had been established between the Ichnia City Council and the Pakistani Embassy in 2024. The full-scale war had unfortunately interrupted the ongoing cooperation, making this meeting an essential moment for both parties to explore new avenues for collaboration.
Cultural Day at Islamic Centre
Excellency Ambassador, Defence Attaché and Deputy Head of Mission paid a visit to Islamic Centre, Ukraine along with embassy staff on 2nd September, 2024. Pakistani C ulture,dresses and Pakistani food were introduced to all participants.
Consular Visit to imprisoned Pakistani prisoner
On 19 March 2024, a Consular visit was conducted by Consular Assistant and APS to address the grievances and complaints regarding frequent transfer from one prison to another paid to a Pakistani prisoner.
