Embassy of Pakistan, Kyiv celebrated 78^th Independence Day of Pakistan on 14th August 2024 in Embassy's premises. Besides, large number of participants from Pakistani community / diaspora, representatives from different walks of life including students from schools, colleges/ universities, members of business community, media persons, important government functionaries and prominent members of society also attended the event.

The event started with Flag hosting ceremony and national anthem of Pakistan, following the recitation of Holy Quran, welcome remarks from Excellency Ambassador and reading of the messages of President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, speeches from Pakistani students, quiz competition on Pakistan and prizes distribution ceremony.

Excellency Ambassador welcomed all the participants at the event of 78¹¹ Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and highlighted the importance of the day paying rich tribute to the founding father, Muhammad Ali Jinnah who alongside_ other towering personalities of the independence movement, turned the dream of Allama Iqbal into a reality. He talked about the difficulties faced. by Pakistan after its independence and the great achievements of the country despite the challenges.

Excellency also talked about Kashmir dispute emphasizing Kashmiris, right of self-determination consistent with UNSC resolutions to be accepted by India and community. It was emphasized that Pakistan's desire to resolve Kashmir issue through dialogue highlights its desire to end all conflicts peacefully. Pakistan will continue to provide political, moral and diplomatic support to its Kashmiri brethren in their Struggle for self-determination.

Bilateral friendly relations between Pakistan and Ukraine over three decades was also discussed. Urgent need to end current escalation through dialogue and diplomacy" was, also highlighted. Pakistan humanitarian assistance to people of Ukraine in the hour of their need was also mentioned. Visit of Ukrainian Foreign Minister to Pakistan, Participation of First Lady of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in First Ladies and Gentlemen Forum and other delegates manifests enhanced cooperation over last year.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Pakistan, Kashmir, Palestine, Muslim Ummah and humanity in general and return of peace in Ukraine.
