A Friendly Cricket match was held between the Pakistan High Commission and Habib Bank Limited, Maldives’ Teams at the Ekuveni Cricket Ground, Male’ on
20 April 2024.

H.E. Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, High Commissioner and
Mr. Zulqurnain Ahmad, Deputy Head of Mission were pleased to witness the Friendly Cricket Match. The HBL Team was headed by the Country Manager HBL,
Mr. Muhmmad Shoaib Awan while Pakistani Team was led by Mr. Zahid Mehboob Chaudhry. The Country Manager HBL Mr. Awan paid gratitude to H.E. High Commissioner for his ever-available cooperation for such healthy activities.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, High Commissioner appreciated the sportsperson spirit in the community members. Availing the opportunity, the High Commissioner said, “We are working with the Government of Maldives in the area of sports. The Pakistan High Commission and Cricket Board of Maldives have been enjoying close cooperation for promotion of Cricket in Maldives”. High Commissioner said, ‘Pakistan has number of sports facilities which could be availed for equipping the talented Maldivian sportspersons and youth’.

While the wining team of Pakistan High Commission was awarded with a gift of Cricket Bat; a cake was cut to enjoy the happy moments at the conclusion of the event.
