The Embassy of Pakistan in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, organized a flag hoisting ceremony on the occasion of 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, today at Chancery. Members from the Pakistani community including students attended the event.
The ceremony started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by flag hoisting with the national anthem by Ambassador Muhammad Saeed Sarwar. Messages from the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read.
The Ambassador in his address extended a heartfelt welcome and congratulated the Pakistani community members on the 78th Independence Day. He paid rich homage to immense sacrifices of our forefathers and the utmost efforts of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and leaders of Pakistan Movement for creating a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent where they would be able to lead a life according to their beliefs and values.
He reminisced the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal for making Pakistan a great nation. The Ambassador stressed that the sacrifices and struggle of our forefathers should always be valued and we as a nation should always work for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The event was also adorned by singing of national songs and special speeches by children and students from Pakistani community members. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all Pakistani community members along with the Embassy officials sung a mili naghma (national song).
On this jubilant occasion, the Chancery building was decorated with Pakistani flags, special banners and pamphlets highlighting the patriotic zeal of Pakistanis.
