On 23 April 2024, the Embassy of Pakistan in Dushanbe held a reception to commemorate the 84th National Day of Pakistan.
The Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Mr. Rahim Saidzoda Hamro, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with H.E. Mr. Farhod Salim, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs. Senior Tajik civil and military officials, Ambassadors, members of diplomatic corps, academia, businessmen, media, and Pakistani community including students participated in the event.
Ambassador Muhammad Saeed Sarwar, during his remarks on the occasion, highlighted the significance of Pakistan Resolution that provided the basis for Pakistan movement. He paid rich tribute to the leaders of Pakistan movement who worked relentlessly to establish a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
Referring to the recent policy measures taken by the Government of Pakistan for economic transformation, the Ambassador underlined that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has been raised to diversify investment sources; unlock abundant natural resources; utilize skilled young workforce; and improve the ease of doing business by reducing administrative hurdles.
Highlighting the plight of the people of Gaza and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir under foreign occupation, the Ambassador stressed that lasting peace in our regions would remain elusive without resolving these disputes.
Ambassador Sarwar recalled the brotherly historic relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan, which are marked by shared history, culture, literature and religion. He expressed with satisfaction that the bilateral cooperation between the two sides have entered a new era of fraternity and multi-dimensional cooperation.
During the event, different documentaries showing the historical sites, landscape, culture and economic potential of Pakistan were screened. Local artists played tunes of Pakistani national songs, as well.
