Youm-e-Istehsal - Kashmir (Day of Exploitation) was observed on 05 August 2024 by Pakistan High Commission in Maldives. An Event was held at the High Commission to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers and sisters in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and to draw attention of the International Community towards the India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 05 August 2019 in IIOJK. The Pakistani and Maldivian fellows were in attendance. The function started with the recitation from the Holy Quran.
While speaking at the occasion; H.E. Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, High Commissioner highlighted the significance of the day; condemned the brutalities of the Indian occupying forces in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). He paid homage to the sacrifices of Kashmiris against the Indian oppression. High Commissioner invited attention of the international community to urge India to stop human rights violations in IIOJK; reverse its unilateral and illegal actions of 05 August 2019; and implement the UN Security Council Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. High Commissioner underlined that Pakistan will never withdraw from its principled stance on the IIOJK; and reiterated Pakistan’s moral, political, and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir in their just struggle for the right to self-determination, as promised to them by the international community through the UN Security Council Resolutions.
Earlier, Deputy Head of Mission Zulqurnain Ahmad, welcomed the guests and appreciated their sentiments for their Kashmiri brethren. While highlighting historic perspective of Jammu & Kashmir dispute; he said three successive generations of innocent Kashmiris have sacrificed their lives but the time is not far when the brave Kashmiris will see the Sun of Freedom-In Shaa Allah.
A brief documentary on the current situation in IIOJK was also screened besides special prayers were offered for the Martyrs and Freedom of Kashmir.
