Pakistan Mission Kyiv organized Pakistan Day 2024 amid ongoing war in Ukraine. Members of Pakistan community in Kyiv and from other cities of Ukraine participated in the event with full zeal and enthusiasm displaying true National spirit.
Multiple activities were organized at different venues with scattered time
frame to avoid concentration and keep low profile, as the situation during the ongoing week, including on the Day of 23 March remained volatile.
Morning activity of National Day celebrations was a graceful formal Flag
Hoisting Ceremony and reading of messages received on the Day from Honorable President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan. The ceremony was organized in Pakistan Embassy premises with participation of all Members of the Embassy with Families and selected Guests of Pakistan's Diaspora.
The main event with maximum participation was the Iftar Dinner, organized
by Pakistan's Embassy at Islamic Cultural Centre, Kyiv in which members of Pakistan's Diaspora, Pakistani Students, our UN Employees; prominent figures from Islamic Cultural Centre kyiv, both Ukrainian and other Nationals were invited.
In addition, an Iftar Dinner for all Muslim Ambassadors and Families present
in Kyiv was hosted at Ambassador Residence in evening of 22 March.
While addressing the Guest, undersigned highlighted the importance of
Pakistan Day including salient of messages received from Honorable President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and paid rich tributes to our founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders of Pakistan Movement.
Audience were informed briefly about the Kashmir dispute and Pakistan's principled support to Kashmiris for their right of self-determination consistent with UNSC resolutions and the inhuman atrocities committed by the Indian Security Forces against Kashmiris residing in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K). They were also informed of Pakistan's deep concern over the indiscriminate killing of innocent Palestinians and our principled support for the establishment of an independent, viable, and contiguous state of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The undersigned also highlighted bilateral friendly relations between Pakistan and Ukraine for over three decades. In this context, Pakistan has repeatedly expressed that there is urgent need to end the ongoing war and resolve dispute through dialogue and diplomacy.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Pakistan, Muslim Ummah and humanity in general and return of peace in Gaza and Ukraine.
