PUBLIC NOTICE

Lately, it has been observed that the practice of issuance of fake Pakistani driving licenses and presenting them in Poland for exchange is on the rise. This is a matter of grave concern for the Embassy as well as for the local authorities. Pakistani community living in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is sensitized not to get involved in such practices in order to avoid dire legal consequences. Following actions may be taken against a person on obtaining/presenting a fake driving license or obtaining a driving license by fraudulent means:

1.  An FIR will be registered by the authorities in Pakistan against the culprit in case someone is found involved in such practices;

      2. The Embassy will forward such cases to the local authorities, where the applicant is residing, to initiate legal action against the culprit                  which may result in imprisonment / serious consequences.

      3. A person caught by the police while driving on a fake driving license has to face deportation/serious legal implications.

         Pakistani community living in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is informed that issuance of Pakistani driving license verification letter by the Embassy is subject to following requirements/conditions:

• Pakistani driving license for which the verification is required must be issued by the provincial traffic police of the applicant or Islamabad Traffic Police or National Highways & Motorways Police. The driving license issued by the other provincial traffic police (where applicant is not resident) will not be verified by the Embassy;
• The driving license verification letter issued by the Embassy is only valid for the country where applicant is residing and cannot be used in other countries.
• The Embassy issues driving license verification letter only to the residents of Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The applicant must hold a valid residence card/red immigration stamp of the relevant country for issuance of driving license verification letter.
