Checklist for Applying for New or Renewal of Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
Please Read This First:
a. All requirements are mandatory.b. Personal appearance is mandatory.c. All Sorts of Endorsement including names of children in parent’s passports is prohibited in the MRP.d. Form & photographs are not required.e. Issuance of MRP is based on NADRA’S (National) Database. Therefore any modification/change in MRP requires prior modification/change in NADRA’s Database first.f. If the applicant is a Refugee/asylum seeker, the High Commission would take the decision about the MRP application.g. If the age of child is less than 15 years then passport validity will only be 5 years. Ten years passport will not be issued. Children 15 years of age or older can be issued 5 or 10 years valid passport as per application.h. Separate bank draft/money order/certified cheaque is required per application.

Passports are printed in Pakistan; processing times may vary. Please do not book your flight itinerary without receiving passport exceptional delays may occur in printing and delivery from Pakistan.
Checklist for Adults (18 years or above)
When coming to submit your MRP application, please bring the following documents as a must:
a. Original and photocopy of valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC/NICOP/Smart NICOP) *In case of married women, CNIC / NICOP / Smart NICOP shall have updated marital status.
b. Original previous Pakistani Passport and photocopies of pages 1-4 and page 7.c. In case of Government Servant, No Objection Certificate is required (in original) from the respective Ministry/Division/Departments. Pakistan Government employees are required to produce original No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued within last ninety (90) days by their respective Ministry/Division/Department.d. Original valid Canadian document showing the residence status (photocopy and original of any one of PR-Card; Canadian Passport; Canadian Citizenship Card / Certificate; Study/Multiple/Super/Work Visa *In case Canadian visa status is not valid Canadian landing paper may be submitted in original with a photocopy.e. In addition to submitting your Canadian landing paper, please provide any one of the following in original with a photocopy:
i. Expired PR-Card
ii. Expired Canadian Passport.iii Expired Study/Multiple/Super/Work Visa Notes:iv. Married female applicants are required to produce original CNIC/NICOP/Smart National ID Card bearing husband’s name. They would otherwise be required to first get their CNIC/NICOP/Smart National ID Card modified in accordance with their marital status before applying for MRP.
Kindly staple photocopies of your documents in the following order:
a. Certified Cheaque/Bank Draft/Money Order in original with a photocopy
b. National ID Card (CNIC/NICOP/Smart NICOP).c. Previous Pakistani Passport (first four pages and visa sticker).d. Valid Canadian Visa Status i.e. Permanent Residence Card, Canadian Passport, Citizenship, Study/Work/Visitor Visa etc.
e. Original Passport Loss Report from concerned Police Station in Canada, if the passport is lost.
f. Original Passport Verification Report from Passport issuing Office (if the passport is lost).
Checklist for New Born and Under 18 Years of Age- for MRP application:
a. Presence of both parents (mother & father) is mandatory.
b. In case of absence of one of them, his/her legal consent/ NOC form should be brought in original.
c. Original and photocopy of valid NADRA’s CNIC/NICOP/Smart NICOP or Child Registration Certificate (CRC).
d. Original and photocopy of Computerized National Identity Card of Mother.
e. Original and photocopy Computerized National Identity Card of Father.
f. Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate of child.
g. Original previous Pakistani Passport and photocopies of pages 1 to 4 and page 7. (Child whose name was endorsed on mother/father’s manual passport, should produce that passport in original).
h. Original Passport Loss Report from concerned Police Station in Canada, if the passport is lost.
i. Passport Verification from concerned passport issuing authority if the passport is lost.
j. New MRP for lost passport cases can only be processed after receiving the verification from the passport issuing office and verifying the passport loss report from concerned police station.
k. Original and photocopy of valid Canadian document showing the residence status i.e. PR-Card; Canadian Passport; Canadian Citizenship Card/Certificate; Study/Multiple/Super/Work Visa *In case Canadian visa status is not valid Canadian landing paper may be submitted in original with a photocopy. In case validity has expired, original and copy of the Expired PR-Card; Expired Canadian Passport; Expired Study/Multiple/Super/Work Visa are required to be submitted.
Kindly Staple your photocopies of documents in the following order:-

iii. Previous Pakistani Passport (First four pages).

Additional Documents required for applying for MRP against Lost Passport Cases
a. Original Valid Computerized National Identity Card. (CNIC / NICOP / Smart NICOP). In case of married women, CNIC / NICOP / SMART NICOP should have updated marital status).
b. Photocopies of pages 1 to-4 and page 7 of previous Pakistani Passport if available
c. Original Passport Loss Report from concerned Police Station in Canada, if the passport is lost.
f. Original Passport Verification Report from concerned Passport issuing Office (if the passport is lost).
g. New MRP for lost passport cases can only be processed after receiving the verification from the passport issuing office and verifying the passport loss report from concerned police station.
h. Original and photocopy of valid Canadian document showing the residence status i.e. PR-Card; Canadian Passport; Canadian Citizenship Card/Certificate; Study/Multiple/Super/Work Visa
i. In case Canadian residence status is not valid, Canadian landing paper may be submitted in original and its copy. In addition to submitting your Canadian landing paper, please provide any one of the following in original with a photocopy:
i. Expired PR-Cardii. Expired Canadian Passport.iii Expired Study/Multiple/Super/Work Visa
iv. In case parents are separated or divorced, the custodian father or mother is required to produce court orders confirming his/her legal right of custody of the child.
MRP Processing: Applicant will go through the following stages in order to get the MRP:a. Arrival of applicant at Customer Services-documents checked and photocopies stapledb. Appearance on turn basisc. Biometric Data Collectiond. Photograph takene. Data Entryf. Verification of entered datag. Interview/Final Decision.Collection of Passport:a. After successful completion of above stages, the applicant will be given 30 days to collect his/her passport in person in case of normal application and 15 days to collect his/her passport in person in case of urgent application.b. Only blood relatives are allowed to pick up the MRP with a hand written and duly signed authorization from the applicant when the applicant is not able to come in personc. COLLECTION BY MAIL: The High Commission doesn’t provide the mailing facility. However, applicant can give pre-paid self-addressed registered courier envelope on his/her own risk at the time of processing in order to get his/her passport sent through courier.d. Monday-Friday 2-4 pm. Please bring original receipt. (if the receipt is lost the MRP will only be issued in person)Machine Readable Passport (MRP) Fees and Processing Time Feeis non-refundable; and acceptable in the form of bank draft/money order/certified cheque in favour of High Commission for Pakistan Ottawa. Separate bank draft/money order/certified cheque is required per application. For example: If you are applying for four people you will need four separate bank drafts
