Career diplomats

Career diplomats are officers of the Foreign Service of Pakistan. Recruitment into the Foreign Service of Pakistan takes place through Competitive Examination (CE) conducted by Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). The officers are part of Civil Service of Pakistan under "Chapter I: Part-XII, Article 240" of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Their recruitment and promotions take place as per the relevant rules of the Government of Pakistan.

Attaches

Attaches are also appointed at Pakistan Missions Abroad to serve in different Wings including Trade & Commerce, Defence, Press and Community and Welfare. Each Wing performs specific functions and focuses on its respective areas of work. The Attaches are recruited through competitive examinations, the process of which is undertaken by their respective Ministries.

Staff

The staff at the PAHIC, OTTAWA is selected among the officials already working in the respective Ministries/Division concerned for a limited period of time.
