Pakistan is home to holy sites of many religions, including Sikhism, Buddhism and Hinduism. A number of Sikh pilgrims from Canada travel to Pakistan each year to visit their holy sites and participate in religious festivals. We make special arrangements to facilitate these visits.
It is our hope that followers of other religions in Canada would also visit their holy sites in Pakistan. Please be assured that we would facilitate such visits.
Pakistan has a rich tapestry of tourism aspects; ancient civilizations like Mehrgarh, Mohenjodaro, Harrapa and Gandhara; world heritage sites like the Shalamar Gardens, Lahore Fort, Makhli Necropolis, Takht-i-Bahi Buddhist Monastery, Rohtas Fort; and may more places of interest.
Pakistan is a haven for mountaineers and trekkers. With 5 peaks over 8,000 meters and many other high mountains, Canadian adventurers and enthusiasts travel to Pakistan to scale them. To project Pakistani culture in Canada, our Mission organised qawwali, which is a form of devotional Sufi music, and exclusive haute-couture shows in Ottawa and Toronto in 2023. This year, Pakistan High Commission organized the 2nd edition of the haute-couture show called Lifestyle Ottawa at the historical Sir John Macdonald parliamentary building in May 2024.
