A delegation of senior civil servants from Bangladesh visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. The delegation is currently in Pakistan for a three-week executive development programme titled “Strategic Leadership, Governance Systems, and Policy Innovation” at the Civil Services Academy, Lahore, under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative.

While extending a warm welcome to Pakistan and the Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, expressed great satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral relations between the brotherly countries of Pakistan and Bangladesh. The DPM/FM expressed the hope that the visit of the Bangladeshi senior civil servants would contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and institutional linkages between the two countries.

Recalling his visit to Bangladesh in August 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister noted that he had announced the launch of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, under which 500 scholarships would be offered to Bangladeshi students over the next five years. He expressed satisfaction that 74 Bangladeshi students had already commenced their studies at various universities across Pakistan. He also noted that the second phase of the Knowledge Corridor had been launched on 10 May 2026 in Dhaka.

The DPM/FM stressed that Pakistan looked forward to working with the new BNP-led government of Prime Minister Tariq Rahman in a spirit of cordiality, mutual respect, and constructive engagement.

The visiting delegation appreciated the warm hospitality extended by the Government and people of Pakistan and expressed interest in promoting greater institutional linkages and professional exchanges between the two countries.

Pakistan and Bangladesh enjoy historic, cultural, and fraternal ties. The visit reflects the shared commitment of both sides to further strengthening bilateral understanding and broadening cooperation at multiple levels.
